The Big Crafty is a day-long celebration of handmade art/craftistry, including artists and their wares, demos by acclaimed crafters, food & drink, and DJ’d music. There’s even going to be a craffle-raffle!

Beth Adams has opened The Blue Ribbon, offering haircuts for men and women, in West Asheville.
The shop features refurbished barber chairs from the 1920s, and customers of legal age are offered a free Pabst Blue Ribbon. (Adams estimates that after the noon hour, about 60 percent of customers accept the beer.)
A Greenville, N.C., native, Adams has cut hair in both high-end salons and cheaper places. She said that with the new shop, “I just wanted to hit the middle ground so people can afford to have nice hair. It’s about being affordable, convenient and laid-back.”
Cuts range from $12-$26, with color services starting at $45. A full line of KMS and Joe Grooming products are available.
